Notes for teachers
In this section password-protected guidance notes were accessed for all of the processes that were included in the project as well as guidelines and advice around associated issues, taking the project further etc.
Schemes of work notes for teachers were available to download in PDF format which supported delivery of various stages of the project as well as ICT worksheets for pupils to follow independently. We also included an example website permission letter to be copied and sent to parents of the participating pupils.
Sending Images and Communicating with Artists
At certain points schools were required to send digital images through to Cloth of Gold to be incorporated onto the project website or to be cut out (delete their backgrounds) and returned with transparency intact.
Notes were included as follows:
"Digital images should be sent to us via email if possible. When sending bulk quantities of images split them into a number of separate messages attaching no more than about 2 MB’s per message.
Pupils artwork on paper that you have selected to be displayed on the ‘Outcomes’ section of your school project website should be digitally photographed or scanned (at 72 dpi resolution) then emailed in the same way.
Alternatively you may want to save them to disc and send them in the post.
If you have difficulties in digitising this work we will be able to do it for you ourselves if it is sent to us by post during the project.
Send to:
Cloth of Gold
12 Coach Lane
Cornwall
TR15 2TP
All work will be returned."
The project was devised to be interactive as much as possible and we aimed to be available to fully support the schools' participation in it.
‘Virtual Visitors’ was a new initiative and we will be happy to hear any ideas that you may have about its development.
