PRIDE PROJECT DESCRIPTION

On Day 3 the main PRIDE project began. Year 5 heard Ayo re-tell the story of the Tortoise and the Elephant as he did on the morning of the Introduction day. They had learnt that stories in Nigeria are used to teach children about life and that they have many meanings. One important lesson to learn from this story was "Pride comes before a fall" but they also talked about the negative and positive aspects of Pride. To help warm up for their drama and literacy, Olusola Oyeleye - (the writer/director who worked on Projects 1-4) came into the school for the first of these days. Pupils produced frame and acrostic poems, played name games and looked at script-writing with her on this day. |
