Following the introduction day and visit to the Horniman Museum, the project started with drama in the hall... power words were brainstormed and picked... bodies were shaped to represent the words... what was the inspiration behind these word sculptures? Pupils examined each others' poses and commented. How would you physically represent POWER?

Story-telling was an essential part of the project and happened spontaneously to provide a focus as well as being planned. "How music came to the world" was the final story of the project on Day 3 and comes from the Yoruba people of Nigeria. It is about a talented young man who was the drummer for his village and whose family name is prefixed by Ayan (which means he comes from a drumming family).

These stories are meant to be looked at from different ways and have many different morals. The stories posed many questions throughout the project and stimulated many discussions.
