During Inspiration Africa! at Brent Knoll School Rose and Crimson classes hosted an assembly where they presented the project to the school. The performance was very professional and the Inspiration Africa! team felt very proud and honoured to have seen it.

"Rose and Crimson classes have been taking part in a project called Inspiration Africa!

We have a special object, which is a headrest. We also have a special word, which is DREAMS. This is because headrests are said to catch people's dreams.

We have been working with artists and a story-teller for five days.

On the first day we dressed up in African clothes and made a big banner. We did this by screen printing. We also sang some African songs and played instruments."

"To make the banner we had to draw pictures of our dreams and cut them out. Then Tony put a special frame on top of a piece of cloth. We put our pictures under the frame and then poured ink onto the frame. We used a special tool called a squeegee to spread the ink around the frame. When we took the frame away you could see our pictures on the cloth.

On the second day we went to see the African Worlds exhibition at the Horniman Museum and drew some pictures.

On the third day we started to make the covers for some cushions that we are going to have in our classrooms."

"We had to put our heads down on the table as if we were asleep. Then we drew around each other's heads in pairs. We made a screen print of our heads."

On the fourth day we sang an African song and played some African instruments. We also decorated the back of our cusions.
