Pupils, staff and team returned to the hall for some story-telling, singing and drumming with Sola. They warmed up with some melodic work around names. "Imagine that you're on a slide. Now we go from the top, right to the bottom, so we say - L E E".

The school had many percussive instruments and these were shared around the pupils and staff. First of all they talked about the masks that they had seen at the Horniman Museum and then they enacted a story about a drummer (above) which incorporated a song that is used in Nigeria to help children go to sleep.

Half way through this session partner pupils from Kemnal Technology College arrived in the hall to join the story and dancing. The two schools have a history of working together (and with Inspiration Africa!) and were all pleased to meet up again.

SOUND
You should be able to hear some sound being played by Hyperceive
. If you can't, it could be for one of the following reasons:

  • Your browser is not Java capable.
  • Your browser has Java disabled, or it is not set up correctly.
  • Your computer does not have a sound system, or it is not set up correctly.

These sounds are excerpts from the session and they download and play one at a time. The last sound available is the chant from the song.

TIP: If you have a slow internet connection the sound may seem disjointed but if you let all of the sounds download and then refresh the page you will hear it again much faster.

  • Text-only
