Visit to the Exhibition (continued)
We were particularly influenced by the work of Philip Kwame Apagya, a studio photographer from Ghana, who commissions large painted backdrops for his studio to offer the people he photographs the chance to participate in a "scene". Philip Kwame Apagya has kindly agreed for us to show some of his work here (above and below).
"The exhibition made me feel happy. I liked the photographs which were in colour. I did not like the black and white photographs as much." Rebecca
"There was a big picture of a house and what's inside the house and you could make your own picture and pretend to take a melon out of the fridge or put a video or record on." Julian
"The paintings of rooms with a stereo, a fridge with beers, a television and a phone, I liked so much. I really liked the colours in this room." Lee
"I liked the painted backgrounds, they make you look rich and I liked the picture of the man pretending to hold the slice of watermelon." Dana
