Description of ijele/PRIDE mask
Our ijele mask is a gigantic colourful mask that is strangely worn to cover the whole body. It is about 8 metres high. It is a very tall figure with hundreds of patterns.
The mask is quite strange for people who are not used to something that big.
I would love to wear the ijele. It must be warm and cosy. It must make someone feel good inside and out.
The Ijele is a big and beautiful mask - it is made of orange and yellow colours mainly.
The school Ijele represents pride of our families, doctors and friends. It also represents power. On the Ijele I drew an owl and a doctor.
I think the Ijele we made at school is really nice. It's fantastic. It's so huge. I feel really proud of it.
Our school Ijele is made up of people in our lives who repesent pride. It is made of cloth, which has pictures of animals and people representing pride. To me the Ijele is a symbol of pride.
Our Ijele is very colourful and all the pictures have been screen printed. Some of the pictures are of people who we are proud of and the other pictures are proverbs. I have done a picture of the cunning tortoise and the colours on it are red, yellow and green.
It's a tall, big colourful mask with lots of patterns on it. It looks delightful, colourful, beautiful and a bit weird. It looks quite heavy.
It reminds me of people I know.
I drew my mum on the Ijele because I'm proud of her. I also drew the priest because I'm proud of him.
The Ijele mask has patterns that represent people and things that make a difference. There was a real one at the museum. It was massive and colourful. We made our own Ijele but not as big. It represents pride and has different pictures of what makes us proud.
The Ijele mask is colourful. It's made very well. It's very big. I drew a shop-keeper for the Ijele mask because if we didn't have shopkeepers we couldn't buy anything. It makes me feel very small. I drew a mouse - it's background is orange and the actual mouse is yellow. It's on our Ijele mask. It looks like a miniature house.
The Ijele mask that my class made is really colourful and has types of animals on it and people we're proud of.
Description of my builder:
The builder is representing my uncle - he is describing how he makes cars.
Description of my fox:
My sly fox is in a mist, in a dark, dark night, searching for its dinner but doesn't look greedy today - he's looking sly.
