He looked into a woven basket and saw that it was empty. He was being very careless and threw the basket in to a cage, where it suddenly filled up with all kinds of food. There was a book sitting on top.

The friends were looking in the basket and saw the book. The book was about countries, so all the animals were interested in this. The page they were looking at was West Africa.

SUDDENLY they got sucked into the book! They were transported to West Africa.
