Project and workshops

Every class in the school was involved in the residency, combining to create three large banners...

Reception and Years 1 & 2 worked together on the Welcome Banner. They started by greeting each other "Welcome!" Then they drew and cut out pictures of their welcoming faces for the banner..

..carefully cutting out the features so that they would show up when screen printed. Each class were given an introduction to the screen printing process before starting work on their banner..

Years 5 & 6 went out sketching to create images for their Neighbourhood Banner....

...they drew the school, shops, houses and local transport including roads, railways and barges on the canal.

Years 3 & 4 drew their favourite characters from books they had read for the Library Banner. They also cut out the book titles and printed them for the border.

The Banner Opening at the end of the project was a great success with parents bringing food from around the world and a steel band providing the music.
