This fabric was made into artworks which included large colourful banners and hangings, cushions and lampshades. These were then exhibited across the boroughs together with photographs of the pupils at work. The exhibition started in Wood Green Library in January and three banners were also displayed at Wood Green Shopping City. The work was then exhibited at the Institute of Education in Central London, Gallery Fore in Edmonton and Harrow Arts Centre where it was opened by the Mayor of Harrow. The project and the exhibitions were featured in local papers and in the 'London Grants News' |

The exhibitions of work were extremely well received in all the boroughs and local teachers, educationalists and artists were full of praise for its high standard and individuality. Parents and governors felt it had been a really exciting experience for the children and the pupils were thrilled to see their work on public display. As well as visits by the participating schools many teachers brought groups of pupils from other local mainstream schools to visit the exhibitions. |
