online projectsVIRTUAL VISITORS HOLOCAUST MEMORIAL DAY PROJECT
The Virtual Visitors project was one of the activities organised for the Holocaust Memorial Day held in Cardiff in January 2006.
Virtual Visitors was an On-Line creative arts project which gave pupils the opportunity to receive ‘Virtual Visitors’ to their school and community travelling through time and cyberspace.
The visitors initially arrived from war time Europe seeking refuge from Nazi persecution to tell their story ‘first hand’ to their new classmates. During the project they gradually transformed into contemporary characters to help explore and better understand how we respond to all ‘outsiders’ and people whose appearance and customs may be different from our own.
