Creative Collaboration

INSET and Training

INSET in Enfield, London, U.K.

Cloth of Gold offer a diverse range of training programmes both independently and as part of residencies and projects working with primary staff teams and co-ordinators, secondary art specialists and special needs teachers, trainee teachers, governors, youth workers, playleaders and young people. Our training is focussed around practical participation demonstrating processes that can be effectively applied in the participants own field of work.

TRAINING TEACHERS
Cloth of Gold In Service Training (INSET) ranges from two hour twilight sessions to whole school arts development consultancies spread across a number of terms. Our practical sessions are fun and informative centered around developing the teachers own creativity through collaboration with one another often in the production of large colourful banners (see teachers' gallery). Processes and techniques are explored developing confidence in the handling of materials and equipment with an emphassis on their use in the classroom. Drawing on our experience across all areas of education we tailor INSET provision to meet the school's own particular needs. Sessions often explore opportunities for using screen printing and other creative processes to support learning in other areas of the curriculum including history, geography, language and literacy.

Our training sessions have contributed to team building initiatives within schools and across boroughs and we have provided entertaining and educational sessions at conferences and seminars throughout the country.

We also advise schools and boroughs on how to set up and manage their own screen printing resource with an emphasis on safety, ease of use and good value for money.

Our training workshops cover areas across other areas of the arts curriculum including different forms of Printmaking, Painting, Drawing, 3D, Ceramics and developing policy/schemes of work for Art, Craft and Design.
